National Service Scheme of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolenchery (NSS MOSC) aims in building a ‘complete human’ through community service. It is a non-profit organization of MOSC Medical college,  Kolenchery run by the MBBS students and supported by the staffs and management to help the needy. Patient care and public health promotions are done by a bunch of MBBS students of the medical college for serving the needy,  which are actively supported and guided by various faculties of the institution. The NSS Unit in MOSC Medical College was established in 2014 and is registered under Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) and central government. At present we have 118 registered MBBS Student volunteers and a large number of retired members. All events organized by NSS are non- profitable events which are supported by the management of MOSC Medical College, Kolenchery and Kerala University of Health Science.

  2. Awareness campaign on hypertension
  3. Awareness campaign on diabetes
  4. Free Mega medical camp
  5. Adopted colony works
  6. Leprosy home visits
  7. Free Mini-camp in every month
  8. Blood donation forum
  9. Collection and distribution of sample medicine
  10. Patient care
  11. Observation of important heath days
  12. Observation of national important days.
  13. Environmental protection and fuel conservation (ENCON)
  14. Medical Screening program
  15. Cataract screening programs
  16. School health programs (both government and private run schools)
  17. Thyroid and Breast cancer awareness cum screening program
  18. Screening at Migrant laborer camps.
  19. Voluntary donations
  20. Supporting other non-profit organizations

Students make these events successful with the help of the valuable service offered by the doctors and para-medical staffs from various departments like community medicine,  General Medicine,  General Surgery,  Ophthalmology,  ENT,  Cardio-Vascular surgery,  Cardiology,  Development pediatrics,  Biochemistry,  Dermatology and Blood bank.
